INTRODUCTION

In August 2023, Mosrac’s sales department received an inquiry from an Italy client who needed a small-size, compact, lightweight, high-torque frameless motor to replace the one they were buying from a well-known German brand. After some discussions, the frameless motor would be used for collaborative robots and robotic joints.
CHALLENGE
The client told us that the German frameless motor they were using had good performance, but it was too expensive.
For the 2.0 version of their product and project, they wanted to lower costs by about five times while keeping the same motor performance.
SOLUTION
After in-depth technical discussions with the client, the Mosrac team recommended U38 series & U50 series frameless motors as alternatives.

RESULT
The client tested motor samples in the first step. The results indicated that some parameters did not match perfectly. However, Mosrac’s technical team quickly responded to make customized improvements according to the client’s feedback and actual application needs. After re-testing the samples, the client was very satisfied with the motors.

After more than six months of reliability and lifespan testing, the client feels Mosrac’s frameless torque motors are very stable & consistent, and also excellent in mass production. The collaborative robots developed and produced by the client’s company are sold worldwide.
